NIMS University Chairman and Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Balvir Tomar was recently felicitated with the prestigious visionary eduPreneur of India award at the “National Convention of eduLeaders&eduPreneurs in Higher Education.”
The event was held at New Delhi on December 11, 2017. It was organised by Rethink India, a nationalist think tank body founded by the alumni of AIIMS & IITs on the occasion of the 83rd birth day of former President, Pranab Mukherjee. In the absence of Prof Balvir Tomar, the award was received by the Director NIMS University, Dr Pankaj Singh.
The ‘visionary eduPreneur of India award’ holds a mirror to the unprecedented efforts and undeterred spirit of the NIMS University Chairman, Prof BalvirTomar in ensuring the educational development of the country. He has contributed significantly in elevating India’s education sector to a distinct level.
Dr Tomar has always been a great source of inspiration for thousands of students as well as the faculty members. He firmly believes that in universalization of education lies a pragmatic solution to all societal scourges.
According to him, our country’s transition into a knowledge-based economy necessitates a new generation of educated youth. His idea of an effective education system transgresses the conventional norms and standards. Prof Balvir Tomar emphasizes that the current education system should to be in sync with the new global environment in order to foster creativity and enhance the quality of education at every level.
In his persistent efforts to widen the scope of education, Dr Tomar has successfully emerged as one of the most powerful figures in the country’s education sector.As an avid philosopher and an educationist, hehas always had a great inclination and reverence for education.
The NIMS Chairman is a professor of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition, Director of Institute of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, Director of Institute of organ transplant and Chair of institute of stem cells and regenerative medicine. He has also been well-acknowledged for his contribution to the industry, with fellowships and awards from many national and international agencies.
Various other prestigious awards bestowed upon him orchestrate his overall excellence and professional expertise. He has also been honoured with the ‘Life time Achievement Award’ by Six Sigma Healthcare Pvt Ltd for his contribution towards the medical industry.
