1. Analyse the Exam Pattern, Syllabus and Marks Weightage 

Exam Pattern 

The class 12 Biology exam consists of a total of 27 questions across 5 sections of the question paper. The first section consists of 5 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), the second section has 7 Short Answer Type Questions of 2 marks each. The third section of the question paper carries 9 questions of 3 marks each. The 4th section has 3 Case-based Short Answer Type Questions with 1 mark each. And, lastly, the 5th section comprises 3 Long Answer Type Questions of 5 marks each. Thus, the Class 12 Biology exam is of 70 marks with a duration of 3 hours. 

Syllabus and Marks Weightage 

In the academic session of 2020-21, the Class 12 Biology syllabus has been reduced by 30%. The following is the updated marking scheme- 14 marks for Unit 6: Reproduction, 18 marks for Unit 7: Genetics and Evolution, 14 marks for Unit 8: Biology and Human Welfare, 12 marks for Unit 9: Biotechnology and its Applications, and 12 marks to Unit 10: Ecology and Environment.

Prepare your unique strategy for attempting the question paper on the day of the final Biology exam. Never try to blindly emulate the strategy of toppers. Based on your strengths and weaknesses, plan how much time should be allocated to each section of the question paper. First, attempt those questions that you know well. Then, move on to the doubtful or difficult questions.
