There is a long list of diseases and disorders related to the heart. Some of these are minor while some others are major and hence serious in nature. In some cases, heart issues may become the cause of death of a person. In fact, most people in their middle years or old age fall prey to one type of heart issues or the others. Some heart issues may arise due to genetic reasons while some others are caused due to improper eating habits, lifestyle or some other habits such as smoking and alcohol consumption in excess. Out of various heart diseases or disorders, cardiac arrest is also one of the most commonly experienced issues as identified by the Essex Clinic. We are giving below some of the signs and symptoms of cardiac arrest so that anyone experiencing the same may be saved from any serious heart issues:-
Pain in the chest
It is considered to be one amongst the most common symptoms of cardiac arrest. According to the experts at Essex Heart Clinic, the patients experience mild to moderate and in some cases even severe pain in the chest during a cardiac arrest. It is all due to obstructions in the way of supply of blood. Since the normal blood supply to the entire body including the heart is obstructed therefore there is a feeling of pain in the chest.
Feeling of dizziness or getting faint
Due to obstructions in the way of supply of blood to the body, there is shortage of oxygen as well and especially in the brain region. As a result of this, the patient starts feeling dizziness and may even get fainted. Improper blood and in turn oxygen supply may intervene with normal brain functions as well.
Heart palpitations
The patients suffering from a cardiac arrest may also have a feeling as if their heart is racing, pounding or missing a beat. Since there is change in the normal beating of the heart therefore the patients may have an uncomfortable feeling and may feel as if something is choking inside their chest.
Shortness of breath
Again it is a common sign of cardiac arrest. There is the state of breathlessness or shortness of breath due to improper blood and in turn oxygen supply to the heart, brain and the entire body. The person may feel suffocated and may have to make extra efforts to breathe properly and normally.
Extreme pressure in the chest region
Cardiac arrest is accompanied by a feeling of extreme pressure in the chest region as well. It is again due to shortage of blood and oxygen supply.
By being aware about these common signals of cardiac arrest, you may take preventative and curative measures well-in-time and get the requisite medical help.
