This is a specification of ISO 14313 adoption of 1999- Petroleum and Natural Gas Industries – Pipeline Valves- Pipeline Transportation Systems. This international standard specification of Pipeline Valves provides suggestions and requirements for the testing, manufacture, design, and documentation of gate, ball, check and plug valves for pipeline application systems.

API 600

This is a Bolted Bonnet Steel Gate Valves Modified National Adoption specification of ISO 10434 of 1998- Petroleum and Natural Gas Industries

API 599

This specification is for Threaded, Flanged, and Welding Ends. Specification for purchase covers metal plug valves needs with butt wending end or flanged, and flanged ends iron plug ductile valves with sizes NPS 1-24, which relate to minimal sizes of pipes in ASME B36.10M. ASME B16.34 conforming valve’s bodies could have an end that is flanged and one butt welding end. This covers both non- lubricated and lubricated valves which have ports that are coaxial and 2-way. It includes needs for fitted valves with plug, internal body, or lining of port or applied tough bodily facings on the body ports, body, plug port, or plug.

API 602

This specification for Gate Valves for Compact Steel with Threaded, Flanged, Extended-Body, and Welding Ends. The standard covers socket-welding end, threaded end, flanged end, butt welding end gate valves of carbon steel in sizes NPS4 and lower.

API 603

The specification is for Butt-Welding and Flanged ends Bolted Bonnet Gate Valves that are resistant to corrosion. The specification involves flanged or butt weld ends in sizes of NPS 1/2-24, relating to minimal sizes of pipes in ASME B36.10M, and classes 300, 150 and 600 as standardized in ASME B16.34.

API 609

This specification is for Lug, Double Flanged and Wafer type butterfly valves. The specification covers materials, design, temperature-pressure ratings, dimensions face to face and inspection, examination and special alloy or nickel-base alloy butterfly valves that offer closed position with tight shutoff and are appropriate for regulated flow.


This specification is for Lug, Flanged, Butt-welding and Wafer Check valves. This standard includes material, design, temperature-pressure ratings, dimensions of face to face and inspection, test specifications, an examination of 2 kinds of check valves.

API 598

This standard includes supplementary examination, inspection and pressure test specifications for both metal to metal seated and resilient seated gate valve, plug valve and butterfly valves. This standard pertains to purchaser inspection and supplementary examinations, if any, at the API valve manufacturing plant.

API 607

This is a fire test for Quarter Turn Valves for soft seated. The standard covers the evaluation, testing, and performance requirement of soft seated, straightway Quarter Turn Valves when exposed to particular fire conditions as defined. Applicable to all sizes and classes of materials made valves as listed out in ASME B16.34.


The standard includes the evaluation and testing specifications of Spec 6D and API Spec 6A valves when subjected to certain fire conditions.
